Memorial match scores funds for good causes
THE family of local teenage road accident victim Connor Craigie has handed over the proceeds of the second annual football tourney held in his memory.
The event at Sir Georges Park, Thurso raised £3650.86, which was split between two good causes. Seventeen-year-old Connor, from Dunnet, suffered from cystic fibrosis and his nurse Lesley Blaikie was on hand to receive one of the donations, which is to go towards the cystic fibrosis endowment fund at Raigmore Hospital.
The other cheque went to the Thurso branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.
Connor was killed when the car he was travelling in crashed near Castletown in January 2011.
The well-attended tournament was organised by Connor’s brother Allan Craigie and his wife Amy.
