A MEDICAL incident occurred today (Thursday) on the A9 near Spittal.

Police Scotland confirmed that the road was temporarily closed to allow an air ambulance to land and take a man to hospital. The road was closed from 10.50am until 11.25am, a police spokesman said.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 0949 hours today to attend to a patient on the A9. We dispatched two ambulances and a helimed unit to the scene and a patient was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital.”
