Maths challenge success for Wick High pupils

DESPITE the challenges of lockdown, pupils at Wick High School (WHS) still managed to compete in a national maths competition.

The UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Junior Mathematical Challenge, promotes a love of problem solving, and is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK.

A WHS spokesperson said: "Every year thousands of pupils from across the UK take part in the competition and this year 14 Wick High School pupils were able to participate.

"S2 pupil, Orrin Lyons, achieved top marks and received the award for Best in School. Congratulations to all of these young mathematicians."
