Caithness, Sutherland and Ross MSP, Maree Todd is encouraging constituents struggling with rising costs to visit the Scottish Government’s new cost-of-living website.

The new online resource pulls together a wide range of advice and financial support available to people across Scotland.

The website, which launched last week, also provides details on accessing Scottish and UK social security payments, including online benefit calculators, as well as wider health and wellbeing information – it can be found at gov.scot/costoflivingsupport

Commenting, Maree Todd MSP said: “I know that many of my constituents are struggling right now as rising costs place significant pressures on household budgets.

“We know that it can often be overwhelming trying to identify the right support and advice, so I’m pleased to see the launch of the Scottish Government’s new cost-of-living website which will act as a one-stop shop for trustworthy advice and financial support.

“I’m encouraged by the inclusion of health and wellbeing advice, as we know financial stresses can take a toll on our health. The website offers advice on healthcare costs and accessing mental health and wellbeing support.

“It’s important that people access the help they are entitled to, so please check out this useful resource to identify any support you may be eligible for.”

Maree Todd MSP adds: “As the Scottish Government does everything within its powers to help households, Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng are wreaking havoc on the UK economy.

“With pension funds in peril, the pound plummeting and mortgages at risk, we are verging on a catastrophic economic crash, adding further to the stresses people and families across my constituency are experiencing.”
