Man given chance to behave after throwing punch at Wick centre





A Wick man who admitted an assault at the town’s community centre has been ordered to behave himself for six months.

Words were exchanged between James Boyd and Edward Maitland, at the Pulteney Centre run by Pulteneytown People’s Project, on March 11, Wick Sheriff Court heard.

Boyd (56), who has a previous record of offending, then pushed Mr Maitland causing him to fall to the floor and then punched him.

Sheriff Neil Wilson, who said the accused, of Huddart Street, Wick, had acted under provocation but had, nevertheless, pleaded guilty, made him subject to a six-month good behaviour order.
