Highland police charge man following Bonar Bridge ‘stabbing’; 24-year-old expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday
A man arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing in Bonar Bridge has now been charged, police have confirmed.
The 24-year-old man, who has not yet been named, is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday.
His arrest followed a disturbance in Bonar Bridge’s Carnmhor Road at around 9.15pm on Thursday night,
Emergency crews attended and a 50-year-old woman was found injured. She was taken to hospital.
A local resident said that around 11 police cars and two ambulances had been seen at Carnmhor Road responding to the incident.

Police confirmed the 24-year-old’s arrest last night, but said at the time that enquiries were “ongoing”.
They confirmed on Friday afternoon that the man was subsequently charged in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector Calum Reid said: “We understand that an incident like this can cause concern in a small local community. However, this is being treated as an isolated incident with no threat to the wider public.
“Officers remain in the area as part of our enquiries and anyone with concerns can approach them.”
