UPDATE: Man charged after incident near Lybster Primary School

Police say a man has been arrested and charged after a disturbance that took place near Lybster Primary School on Thursday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 9am.

Police said a 54-year-old man had been arrested and charged.

Inspector Alasdair Goskirk of Wick said: "A 54-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the assault of a 38-year-old man near Lybster Primary School shortly after 9am on Thursday, December 3.

"The 38-year-old declined medical attention.

"I want to assure the community that at no time were any children thought to be at risk and we have liaised with the school regarding this. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
