Wick Sheriff Court heard what happened when drunken Amentep Booth's attempt to borrow money to get into a Thurso nightclub on New Year's Day failed.

Words were exchanged when he didn't get the cash from a man and they came to blows, Sheriff Mark Lindsay KC was told this week.

Booth (21) admitted having behaved in a disorderly manner and engaging in a fight, and committing a breach of the peace in Traill Street, Thurso. Police officers learned of the incident while checking CCTV footage.

Sheriff Mark Lindsay deferred sentence on Booth, of Marr Terrace, Thurso, for six months to allow him to demonstrate he can behave.
