A 55-year-old Wick man was on a community payback order when he landed in more trouble.

Paul McCann appeared at the town's sheriff court on Tuesday and admitted threatening or abusive behaviour at Huddart Street on August 29.

He shouted at three females and brandished a blue metal pole at them.

His not guilty plea to possessing an offensive weapon was accepted by the Crown.

Solicitor Willie Young said that given McCann is subject to the community order, he would expect sentence to be deferred for reports.

Mr Young said there was no opposition to the Crown motion for the forfeiture of the pole, which he said was a broom handle.

McCann, of Huddart Street, Wick, will appear back for sentence on November 15 after the preparation of a community justice social work report.
