Man arrested twice after incidents in Wick's Cairndhuna Terrace

Police in Wick arrested a man accused of assaulting two women in the town on Monday evening, only to rearrest him shortly after release for returning to the scene of the crime on Tuesday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 10.40pm on Tuesday, September 7, to a report of a disturbance in the Cairndhuna Terrace area of Wick, during which, two women aged 24 years and 21 years were assaulted.”

The spokesperson stated that a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and released on Wednesday morning on an undertaking to appear at Wick Sheriff Court later this month.

A short time later, around 10.20am, police were called to a report of a disturbance in the Cairndhuna Terrace are of Wick where it was discovered that the same man had breached the conditions of his release.

"He was arrested and charged in connection with this second incident and is due to appear at Wick Sheriff Court on Thursday, September 9, in relation to both of these incidents.”
