Police Scotland said that a 44-year-old man had been arrested and charged last week after a joint operation with the Civil Nuclear Constabulary but no details of the charges were revealed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, 22 February, a 44-year-old man was arrested and charged following a police operation involving Civil Nuclear Constabulary and Police Scotland. He was released on an undertaking to appear at Wick Sheriff Court at a later date.

“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

The Police Scotland spokesperson said they were not able to confirm the charges and do not have anything further to add than the statement they gave.
