Majorettes team in a twirl after competition wins

North Point Twirl Squad, the competition team from Wick-based dancing school the Marrellian Majorettes, celebrated its successes at the second TwirlSport Scotland Majorettes competition of 2023.

Carrie Mackay, who coaches the girls who are aged from 4 to 20+ years, said: "The athletes had a very successful trip bringing home lots of trophies and well-placed medals.

"The girls worked very hard in the run up to the competition to perfect solo, duet and team performances. They will be returning to training to prepare for the next competition in October. The finale of the year will be the Scottish Championships which will be held in Inverness over two days at the end of November."
