Mackay-Steven ‘fair thrilled’ to joined SPL side Dundee United
A YOUNG Caithness footballer has joined Scottish Premier League club Dundee United on a two-year deal.
Gary Mackay-Steven, who is 21 and hails from Thurso, was signed after impressing Tangerines boss Peter Houston in pre-season training and friendlies.
Houston described the winger as "a welcome addition" to his squad.
The young player’s mother, Sheena, said he was "delighted" to get the chance to join United.
He was previously at Ross County and Liverpool and also had a spell at Airdrie United before making the move to Tayside.

Mackay-Steven was in the Dundee United party which travelled to Poland for last night’s Europa League qualifier against Slask Wroclaw.
Sheena said her son was "fair thrilled" to sign for United.
"He is delighted to get back into full-time football. He likes it there. Everybody has been supportive and there is a good feel about the club," said Sheena.
