Lyth stable Horsin' Around plant trees for Red Nose Day

Horsin' Around stables based at Lyth held a charity plant a tree event in aid of Red Nose Day tomorrow (Friday, March 19).

Four girls from the stables took on the task of planting the charity trees – twins Abbie and Sophie Bell along with Gina Lewis and Hannah Kowalska.

Each girl tied a ribbon on their trees and named after their favourite horse at the stable.

Horsin' Around owner Natalie Oag said: "The girls said they enjoyed learning about the different types of trees and the whole process of planting. We found one of the girls naturally had green fingers and now seems to have found a new hobby."

Due to the pandemic it was a restricted event, so the girls planted trees on behalf of others for a donation to the Red Nose Day charity.

"Some of the ladies have given names to the trees after a beloved pet or someone special whom had passed away and some decided to name them after the stables' horses – one of the girls named a tree Oscar after our beloved pony who passed away," added Natalie.

"The girls enjoyed the event – saying they said they found it relaxing and interesting – while doing some good at the same time for the Red Nose Day charity event and for our planet."
