Caithness arts organisation Lyth Arts Centre (LAC) has announced its programme of events centred around the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF).

Events will run from Thursday the 12th to Sunday the 22nd of October. The programme includes music from Dopey Monkey and Norman and Corrie; film screenings of Right of Way, Riptide and Lakelands; plus some fun workshop opportunities including a mindfulness photography workshop.

Most events will take place at Lyth Arts Centre but there are some locational surprises including events at Keiss Beach, Dunbeath Heritage Centre and even as far afield as Brora.

Marketing manager Calvin Wilson said: "We’re delighted to be part of the SMHAF programme and we look forward to welcoming people back to LAC this autumn.

"Mental health awareness is something that we as an organisation are very passionate about, so taking part in the festival means a lot. We also have a range of events for young people including music workshops and writing workshops available at the moment, so make sure to check out the LAC website for more details on these."

As well as the SMHAF programme, LAC is delighted to welcome some world class classical musicians – the Trio Havisham and George Todica both play the arts centre this October.

Most events are free to attend but all require booking – more details can be found on the LAC website here: lytharts.org.uk/events/list/

The programme of events is supported by Creative Scotland.
