A popular Lybster shop had to cancel its Christmas party this year but went out into the local area to spread some festive cheer instead.

Donald Henderson, who runs D&S Henderson's convenience store in Lybster with his wife Sonya, decided this year to hand out afternoon tea hampers purchased from the Home Bakery in Wick and Johnstone's of Thurso.

The couple, together with their nine-year-old daughter Emily, did the rounds of the Lybster area to bring goodwill to local folks after their annual Christmas party had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions.

Donald said: "We had great fun delivering over 70 hampers to local pensioners/customers and hopefully we'll have our party as normal next year."
