Lybster man ‘made threat to shoot’, Wick court told

A Lybster man is alleged to have threatened to shoot two people at a house in the village last year.

Ricky McPhee (23) denied a charge of assault, at Wick Sheriff Court last week.

The indictment alleges that he brandished a weapon at a man and a woman at an address in Shelligoe Road, Lybster, and brandished a weapon they believed was a firearm, and uttered threats to shoot them.

McPhee, of Shelligoe Road, Lybster, is further accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and uttering offensive remarks at the pair.

The incidents are said to have occurred on August 30, last year.

The trial, which will be heard before a jury, was set for March 3, next year, and is expected to last two days.
