Caithness Family History Society is keen to welcome newcomers and those who have been researching their ancestors.

The Society, formed in September 1999, has around 250 members worldwide. Its aim is to promote an interest in genealogy and to help others trace their roots, especially families originating in Caithness.

CFHS winter meetings run every month from September till June inclusive and will be held on Tuesday evenings, rather than the Wednesdays of previous years. They will take place in a variety of locations and formats that include face-to-face meetings in Wick or Thurso, online meetings and hybrid meetings.

A CFHS committee member said: “New faces would be very welcome, especially at our forthcoming AGM. We have exciting projects in the pipeline, including some new publications.”

The AGM, a face-to-face meeting, will be held in the West Church Hall, Thurso (entrance on Princes Street) on Tuesday, October 11 at 7pm.

CFHS has a website caithnessfhs.org.uk and a Facebook page. The society can also be emailed at: enquiries@caithnessfhs.org.uk
