‘Lock it or lose it’ message to bicycle owners

NORTHERN Constabulary are promoting bicycle security in the run up to Christmas.

The force hopes that a promotional video will knock the message home to lock up any bikes over the festive period as sports equipment continues to prove to be a popular gift at this time of the year.

PC Euan McGibbon from the force’s crime prevention unit says: “lock it or lose it”.

“Unfortunately bike theft is a problem throughout the UK and the Highlands is no different,” said the crime prevention officer.

“However the good news is that there are things we can do to make it less likely to happen to us.”
