A special charity fun day held at the Country Spa raised an amazing £2655 for the Scottish Cot Death Trust in memory of Wick baby Texas McBeath.
The event was organised by Occumster-based beautician Katrina Sutherland who was inspired to do something for the charity after speaking to Wick mum Emma MacDonald.
Emma has been fundraising for the trust since losing her baby daughter Texas in April 2015. The amount raised at the recent fun charity event brought her total to over £15,200.
Various activities were staged during the day, with discounted treatments offered from a number of local therapists and a large raffle also proved popular.
Katrina said: "Although the weather was unkind, we had a great turnout and we can't thank everyone enough for all their help and support, and their kind donations of baking, money, gifts and time.
"I would like to thank the therapists who gave up a day to help us raise funds – Keira Anderson, Ashlyn Sinclair, Lisa Valentine-Mclelland and Lynsey Bremner – and all the visitors who braved the wind and rain.
"The therapists were brilliant and never stopped and we had a steady stream of visitors so the Scottish Cot Death Trust was well supported with lots of money raised. We hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as we all did."
Thanking Katrina for all her hard work, Emma said: "We raised an amazing amount. I would like to thank everyone who came on the day – and everyone who helped out."
She was delighted with the support shown for the charity, as well as those that came forward to make donations and buy raffle tickets.
