Local author reads to the community

A Caithness author and café owner has created an internet story channel to help folk beat the lockdown blues.

Glyn F Salisbury owns the Rumbin' Tum café at the former Lochshell petrol station and also runs a story-writing group called the Write Place 2B.

"With lots of people now in isolation, I and my writing group have just launched a YouTube channel allowing people to hear stories being read out," Glyn said.

"We are aiming, in a short while, for a new story every day.

"I know a few elderly people – even in their nineties – who enjoy using the PC and love listening to stories."

Glyn hopes the story reading channel will get shared across the community far and wide.

He added: "If you are a writer and would like to hear one of your tales read out – with you credited as author – then email your story to me."

The prolific author recently completed his 13th book – the final part of the R.U.N.E. trilogy, called By Land, Sea and Air – which he launched in Wick Tesco before the lockdown.

"I did a quick numbers job and was gobsmacked to know there are 957 pages and just over a quarter of a million words," he said about the book trilogy.

Glyn's books are available to purchase on Amazon and his email address is glyn.salisbury@btinternet.com
