Life bans face thugs who attacked Brora Rangers supporters bus
WICK ACADEMY have said anyone who is found guilty of throwing objects at a supporters bus which had left Harmsworth Park will be banned from the stadium for life.
Police have reported a number of people were seen running from the Wick Cemetery area after stones were thrown at a bus carrying Brora Rangers supporters from the North Derby game on Tuesday night.
The bus was attacked when travelling down Harrow Road towards the South Road junction at 9:55pm, which resulted in a window being broken and significant damage caused to the bodywork of the vehicle.
Wick Academy issued a statement saying they will not stand for thuggish behaviour and is encouraging anyone who can identify the culprits to contact police.
A spokesman said: “We are very upset and disappointed to hear about the incident that occurred when the Brora Rangers Supporters bus was leaving Wick.

“The people that carried out this act are not fans, they simply use the game as an excuse to cause trouble.
“Police Scotland were escorting the bus as it left the town when the incident happened and hopefully the perpetrators can be caught.”
He added: “If Police Scotland identify who was responsible for this mindless act, Wick Academy will impose lifetime bans for future entry to Harmsworth Park to those involved.
“This sort of behaviour will simply not be tolerated by the club.”
