Last-minute evidence delays trial over stabbing charge at Wick court
A late piece of evidence in an alleged stabbing case prevented a trial proceeding at Wick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Lianna Gunn's trial will now take place on January 31.
The 33-year-old denies having assaulted her former partner, David MacGregor, with a knife, struggled with him, repeatedly punched him and hit him with a poker, all to his injury and permanent impairment.
The incidents are said to have occurred at Gunn's former home in Osbourne Close, Wick, on December 5, last year.
The late piece of evidence was flagged by Fiscal David Barclay shortly before the trial was due to begin.

He said he had spoken earlier to Mr MacGregor, waiting in the witness room to give evidence, who revealed that he had recorded the alleged incidents on his mobile telephone and apologised for not flagging this up earlier.
Mr Barclay described the footage as "a potentially key piece of evidence" but it could not be readily viewed in its present form and would require to be transferred to a better format which would then be made available to the defence.
Gunn, of Willowbank, Wick, has entered a special defence of self-defence.
