Bower Community Council is facing extinction.

NOMINATIONS for a community council which faces extinction have to be received by the end of this week.

The Highland Council has put out a plea for local people interested in joining Bower Community Council to put themselves forward by Friday, December 9, at 4pm.

Bower was the only community council in Caithness – but one of 19 across the Highlands – which officially disbanded on Wednesday, November 16, when it failed to receive enough nominations.

However, the council has given them all a second chance to re-form.

All local applications should be sent to ward manager David Sutherland at the Highland Council, Market Place, Wick KW1 4AB.
