Knife assault alleged in Wick





A man was taken to Caithness General Hospital after being assaulted on Tuesday night.

A MAN was taken to hospital after suffering a superficial wound as a result of an assault which took place in Wick on Tuesday night.

The incident was alleged to have taken place at Murchison Street and resulted in the victim being transported to the accident and emergency unit at Caithness General Hospital.

Staff treated the man’s injuries to his arm but they are thought not to be serious or life threatening.

Police would not confirm how the superficial wound was caused but said that it was not more than a scratch.

A spokeswoman for Northern Constabulary said police are continuing their investigations into the alleged assault.
