Journey through dementia, loss and separation at Thurso art show

Thurso Gallery is hosting an exhibition by Highland artist Lar MacGregor that deals with childhood playfulness and shared experiences that runs from April 12 – 23.

Susurrus is described as "a gentle stroll through the artist’s personal journey with dementia, loss and separation" expressed through a series of organic and abstracted sculptures.

Lar says of the work: "As children we play in swathes of leaves, free of the detritus that comes with age. The works in this exhibition attempt to capture that playfulness while exploring the shared experiences that have come to dominate our lives in a time of Covid-19."

Exhibitions officer, Cathy Shankland said: "This is beautiful work which will chime with many of our visitors who turned to nature and the environment to bring us joy and to help with feelings of loss and isolation during the pandemic."

The exhibition runs from Saturday, April 12 until Wednesday, April 23 at the Thurso Gallery in Thurso Library on Davidson's Lane. KW14 7AF. Tel: 01847 896357
