If you are looking to do some fun, nature-based festive activities with your family this December then eco initiative Species on the Edge (SOTE) can help.

First on the agenda is a Festive Bug Box Build just outside Wick on December 10.

Join SOTE for a festive bug box building day at Newtonhill Woodland about one mile from Wick. Hot drinks and seasonal refreshments in front of a roaring fire will be provided. The event will take place from 10.30am - 1pm. You can find all the details here.

Make Wildflower Baubles with High Life Highland (HLH) in Thurso on December 14.

Join the HLH countryside rangers at the North Coast Visitor centre in Thurso for some Christmas decoration making with a 'wildflower twist'. These decorations can be planted out in the garden later in the spring to help grow pollinator-friendly wildflowers. All materials and wildflower seeds are provided. The event will take place from 11am - 12.30pm.
