Caithness Family History Society’s (CFHS) online talk on Wednesday March 9 at 7pm is entitled, Stroma to Waas and Rosie to Ross.

The speaker is professional genealogist and CFHS member, Jane Harris, whose business is cleverly called Janeology. She has been keenly interested in her own family history for a long time but only started her business in 2012. Although she now lives near Inverness, her roots are deep in the Orkney islands where she was born and grew up, with a strong Caithness line too, including the surnames Rosie, Green and Sinclair.

Jane Harris will be speaking at the event.

Jane’s background is in information management, student services and teaching and she has found her skills and experience to be very relevant to family history research. To extend and validate her knowledge and practice, she studied for a Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies (University of Strathclyde) in 2011. Jane is also a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Scottish Genealogy Network.

CFHS says that as well as professional qualifications, Jane has a way with words and an excellent sense of humour. Hearing about her ancestors will be both entertaining and informative.
