THREE members of the Highland Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade were at St James Palace in London along with 15 others from the organisation in Scotland to be presented with the Queen’s Badge by the Duke of York to commemorate the 100th year of the monarch’s badge.

Despite being held in sweltering temperatures, Jack Dunnett, of the 1st Thurso company and Inverness counterparts Marc Winfield and Ross Baxter enjoyed receiving their awards from Prince Andrew, who took time to speak with them, asking about their uniform and their experiences with the brigade.

The Queen’s badge is the highest honour that can be bestowed within the brigade.
