Inverness lorry driver fined for using mobile phone in Wick street





An Inverness lorry driver caught while using a hand-held mobile phone in the centre of Wick was fined £400 at the town’s sheriff court on Wednesday.

George Urquhart, of Firthview Drive, Inverness, also incurred six penalty points. This brings the points total on his licence to nine.

The 62-year-old’s latest offence occurred on April 2, in High Street, Wick. When cautioned and charged by the police, Urquhart, who also admitted a previous record of offending, replied: “I never noticed.”
