‘If you don’t comply, you will be sent to prison’ – drug treatment order after Wick woman resisted arrest
An 18-month drug testing and treatment order (DTTO) has been imposed on a young Wick woman for a run-in she had with police at her home.
Officers had sought out Holly Mackay after she breached a bail order on March 29 by not observing a 7pm-7am curfew, the town’s sheriff court heard on Wednesday.
When they tried to detain the 27-year-old, she swung her arms around, kicked her legs in the air and then made her body a deadweight, refusing to go into the cell area of the police vehicle.
Mackay, of Wellington Avenue, previously admitted breaching bail and resisting arrest when sentence was deferred for a criminal justice social work report.
Sheriff Neil Wilson on Wednesday went along with the recommendation to make Mackay the subject of a DTTO.
He said: “I should warn you that a DTTO is not easy. It’s there to help you but if you don’t comply, you will be sent to prison.”

The sheriff also required her to attend any mental health appointments arranged by her social worker.
Mackay meanwhile pleaded not guilty to eight road traffic offences she allegedly committed on the A9 at Dunbeath on September 16, 2023. Her trial was set for September 2.
