The story behind a wedding photo from many years ago will be at the heart of Caithness Family History Society’s March meeting next week.

It will feature a talk entitled How a Johnston Photograph Helped to Solve a Family Mystery. The speaker will be retired teacher and keen photographer Eswyl Fell, whose pictures often appear in the print and online editions the John O'Groat Journal and Caithness Courier.

She has been researching her family history for many years and has made some interesting discoveries. As a volunteer at Wick Heritage Museum, Eswyl is no stranger to the Johnston photographic collection and it was one of these images that shed light on the puzzle.

The meeting takes place in the Nethercliffe Hotel, Wick, on Tuesday, March 14, starting at 7pm. There will be the opportunity for a chat and a cup of tea afterwards.

Caithness Family History Society has a website (caithnessfhs.org.uk) and a Facebook page.
