Staff at Caithness General Hospital have donated £480 to the Caithness FM Toy Appeal.

Caithness FM's Jackie Johnson visited the hospital in Wick to receive cheques for £170 from the nurses of the Rosebank wing and £310 from the hotel services department.

The community radio station says every donation makes a difference to disadvantaged children in the county at Christmas.

Jackie said: "We would like to thank the nurses of the Rosebank wing and the staff of the hotel services department not only for their very generous donations but also for taking the time to support the toy appeal during this very difficult time for all NHS staff.

"The support from the people of Caithness shown to the children of Caithness is absolutely fantastic and we really do appreciate it.

"It certainly helps us to try and make sure no child in Caithness goes without this Christmas."
