Wick and District Gardening Club celebrated its 30th anniversary with an afternoon tea in Puldagon farm shop and restaurant.
The anniversary cake was cut by club secretary Virginia Miller along with Betty Webster and Bunty Oliphant – all three of whom have been members since the club began.
Club chairperson Doreen Turner explained: "This was our first fundraising event since Covid and we thought it appropriate to tie it in with our 30th anniversary celebrations.
"We chose to raise funds for Highland Hospice and decided to incorporate a mannequin parade during our afternoon tea. Seven of our members modelled clothes from Wick's hospice shop and we had three senior pupils from Wick High School wearing their prom dresses."
Carol Grant was compere. Two members had written a 25-verse poem which was recited by Marney Bruce.
Prior to the event the club ran a gardening quiz which raised £869.
The hospice shop donated a Harrods teddy which was raffled and raised £190. The sum of £170 was raised from a raffle on the day and one of the members made tablet which raised £21.
A total of £1250 was raised and a cheque was handed over to Hannah Morrison, the Wick hospice shop manager.
Doreen thanked everyone who had made the event possible, including Iona Simpson for the cake she donated.
