Highland theatre issues call for young performers to be part of panto
Talented young performers aged 9–15 are being encouraged to audition for the roles of the Lost Bairns of Beauly or a spot in the Junior Ensemble in this year’s Eden Court pantomime.
Auditions will take place on Sunday, August 24 at Eden Court in Inverness.
For those who wish to audition for the Lost Bairns, where the role will involve a mixture of speaking, singing and dancing, application forms should be submitted in advance to register for the auditions and a small piece of script to learn will be sent prior to auditions.
For those who wish to audition for the Junior Ensemble, a dancing only role, no pre-registration is needed. Auditionees are to turn up on the day at 9.30am with a printed, completed form with them.
Steve Boden, joint chief executive of Imagine Theatre, the award-winning producer behind the show, said: “Every year, we hold open auditions across the UK to discover fresh young talent to join our professional pantomime casts.

“We’re not just looking for technical ability, we want to see personality, stage presence, and that special spark that lights up a performance.
“These opportunities are at the heart of what we do.
“We're proud to remain one of the few nationwide pantomime producers committed to open auditions, because we believe every young person should have the chance to experience the magic of panto from the stage, no matter their background or experience.
“Many young people who’ve joined our Junior Ensembles have gone on to careers in the industry and it all started with that first audition.”
