Highland railway station building hits market — for only £50,000

A “unique opportunity” to snap up a traditional Highland railway station property on the NC500 is being flagged up at a knock-down price.

The former Achnasheen Village Hall property has been put on the market at offers over £50,000.

It’s located just off the junction of the A832 and A890, steps from Achnasheen Railway Station on the iconic Kyle of Lochalsh line.

The two-storey detached building is made up of a main hall extending to 75 sq.m on the first floor and a canteen, toilets, a storeroom, and entrance porch on the ground floor.

It has been put on the market by Highland Council.

The local authority advises that the property is connected to mains electricity and water but that the spetic tank that served it is currently not in working order and would need repaired or replaced.
