Struan Mackie Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party – 921

Matthew Reiss Independent – 1049

Ron Gunn Scottish Liberal Democrats – 1411

Karl Rosie SNP – 947

Those Not Elected :

Alexander Glasgow Independent – 151

Iain Gregory, Independent – 660

Main Issues: Depopulation, potholes, maternity provision, onshore wind

Three incumbents were comfortably returned to represent the far north at Highland Council.

Some candidates felt slightly pessimistic about their chances but in the end came through easily.

The returning councillors will be joined by Ron Gunn of Scottish Liberal Democrats.

The final tallies given represent the first preference votes before the Single Transferable Vote System calculations are made.
