Those Elected (tallies of first preference votes):

Raymond Bremner, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 1059

Andrew Jarvie, Scottish Conservative and Unionist – 632

A.I. Willie Mackay, Independent – 534

Jan Mcewan, Scottish Liberal Democrats – 1245

Those Not Elected:

Bill Fernie, Independent – 438

Neil MacDonald, Scottish Labour Party – 272

Main Issues: Depopulation, potholes, maternity provision, onshore wind, transport

A huge gamble by the Conservative group leader to swap seats and try to represent Wick and East Caithness has paid off.

Andrew Jarvie was elected alongside the SNP group leader Raymond Bremner and AI Willie Mackay.

While there was also a huge surge in LibDem voters with Jan McEwan voted in.
