SAILING into port with a brand new look, the Hamnavoe returned to service today after three weeks out of operation.

The ferry made its first return journey across the Pentland Firth since returning from its dry dock period with new livery.

The transformation included the company’s new Viking logo being painted on the side of the vessel.

Managing director Stuart Garett said the image is designed to make an impact so that people choose the Northern Isles as a place to visit on holiday.

“We are thoroughly looking forward to the Hamnavoe’s return to service, particularly given that externally she has truly been transformed,” he said.

“A key element to the new livery is to excite potential tourists about the history and culture of the Northern Isles."
