Halkirk drink-driver is banned





A Halkirk man who drove his van while over the drink-driving limit was fined £200 at Wick Sheriff Court this week.

James Crowden was also banned from driving for a year after he admitted the offence which occurred on November 26, last year.

The 45-year-old, of Crescent Street, Halkirk, failed a roadside breath test on the B874 at Glengolly, and a follow-up test revealed a blood-alcohol level of 63 milligrams – the legal limit is 50 mgs.
