This time her subject is John Calder, a Dunnet crofter, born in 1785. Muriel will talk about his life on land and at sea. The intriguing title, 'Guest of Napoleon', gives a hint of one event in John’s life. The talk is based on previously assembled historical notes and family recollections and is bolstered by new research.

The meeting will be held at Castletown Heritage Centre, Harbour Road, Castletown, KW14 8TG, at 7pm on Tuesday, February 13. All are welcome to attend.
