A RENEWABLE energy company has won its battle to develop a wind farm on moorland near Watten.

Muirden Energy's application to erect 12 turbines at Cogle Moss was knocked back by Highland Council in January 2017 because of the perceived impact it would have on the landscape. It was also claimed it would represent over-development.

But the 36 megawatt scheme has been given the go-ahead after the company won its appeal to the Scottish Government.
