A JAPANESE TV company is calling on engaged couples in Caithness to let it film the traditional Scottish custom of blackening the groom.

The producers of Takeshi Kitano’s Unbelievable, is coming to the Highlands to film for an upcoming special programme about unique traditions.

They are looking for someone organising a blackening in the Highlands between now and September 20, to let its camera capture a blackening for broadcast on Japanese television.

The crew will pay £100 and will also send a DVD of the blackening appearing on the show.
