Caithness is often the focus for some outstanding photography, and we want to highlight it again in our 2023 calendar competition.

Amateur photographers are invited to submit photographs to the publishers of the Caithness Courier and John O'Groat Journal, with the winners having pride of place in the calendar.

The annual readers' calendar photography competition aims to showcase the county in all four seasons.

As well as showing off the beauty of Caithness, it gives another opportunity to promote the rich pool of photographic talent that exists in the area.

We are sure our talented readers will again rise to the challenge of seeking to have their images chosen for North of Scotland Newspapers’ 2023 calendar.

So get out there and capture the changing seasons for a chance to feature in next year's Caithness calendar.

From your entries, we’ll choose the 12 images that will be used to illustrate the calendar, with the overall winning entry being given pride of place on the front cover.

HOW TO ENTER:

  • Find your best shots. Please remove any watermarks or date stamps.
  • Ensure images are high-resolution jpg files (minimum size 2MB)
  • Email them to editor@nosn.co.uk with "2023 calendar photos" as the subject line.
  • Include: A caption stating the location of the picture; your name; a daytime phone number.
  • Please note: Due to the high volume of entries we receive, we are not able to acknowledge receipt of images.

By taking part, you’ll be in with a chance of having your photo included in the calendar and receiving a free copy of the final product, which will be on sale later this year.

Those whose pictures are selected will also receive a copy of this year’s Caithness photo book.

By entering, you are granting us permission to reproduce your image for the calendar, as well as in our newspapers and websites. You will retain the copyright of the image.

The deadline for entries is 11.59pm on Sunday, July 31.

Don't forget, we're also keen to see your best pictures of the county for our regular Your Caithness feature. Email your high-resolution jpg files – along with your name, location and what's in the photo – to editor@nosn.co.uk marked Your Caithness.
