A MEETING to discuss how Gaelic is delivered across the Highlands will be held in Thurso tomorrow.
The Highland Council is staging the first of eight discussions across the region of the revised draft of the Gaelic Language Plan at Thurso High.
The actions proposed in the draft will be delivered between 2012 and 2016 under six themes, which include how Gaelic is delivered in the home, schools and workplaces, and through arts and economic development.
The consultation period, which started this month, runs until January.
The current Gaelic plan has drawn criticism from Caithness councillors and community councils in the past regarding bilingual road signs.
Councillor Hamish Fraser, chairman of the council’s Gaelic committee, said: "It is vital that the public, Gaelic and cultural organisations and communities engage and take part in the consultation process.
"I would urge individuals and organisations with an interest in Gaelic education and community development to feed into our consultation and to contribute to our plans for Gaelic over the next few years."
The meeting will start at 7pm.
