AN Englishman is preparing to pull off an extraordinary ‘feet’.

Anthony Band plans to make history by becoming the first person ever to run from John O’ Groats to Land’s End barefoot.

The 22-year-old personal trainer from Horley in Surrey is running 1000 miles in aid of Help for Heroes.

Mr Band said he is looking forward to putting is heart and "sole" into the challenge.

"I woke up on New Year’s Day wanting to make a difference and the idea just clicked," he said.

"Combining my interests with an epic challenge to raise money for an outstanding charity which touches me was a no brainer."

Anthony will be running barefoot for the whole journey except in hazardous conditions when he will wear minimalist shoes.

He begins his journey this morning and runners from across the country will also be joining him for a few days of his journey.
