THIS year's Latheron Show looks set to be action-packed with lots of new exciting activities lined up to attract spectators.
Making a visit to the event for the first time will be an interactive display from a graffiti artist who will possibly be giving the secretary's cabin a facelift as well as doing some other free-standing pictures.
The 96th show, being held at West Clyth Farm, Lybster, on Saturday, July 13, will also be providing the venue for a sheep-shearing competition organised by the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs.
Among the other activities on the entertainment programme will be a display by magician Clive Grewcock. If conjuring tricks are not your cup of tea, perhaps ferret racing will be more likely to keep you amused.
There will also be a birds of prey display, while in the floral tent a demonstration will be given by Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner Amanda Coghill.
Show president Raymond Gunn said: "Things are looking up – we are moving forward. We have got a few new ideas this year which should attract a wider audience.
"Hopefully this will generate more people coming to the show.
"We've had good interest at our meetings, but we're always looking for people with new ideas."
For the children, as well as the normal sports programme, there will be a treasure hunt and also a chance to take part in the Fairy Liquid football which provided good clean fun last year.

The show will have the usual livestock competitions for horses, cattle, sheep and poultry, although schedules are not being posted out this year and exhibitors will be able to find them on the Latheron Show Facebook page with entries closing on June 23. Home industries and flower show schedules are also on the Facebook page.
The craft and produce tent will have demonstrations running throughout the day, and visitors to the show may also enjoy watching the vintage tractor display or taking part in the popular dog show or watch the horse driving turnout competition.
In addition to the other competitions there will be a baby show on the day, and there will be a number of sideshows and trade stands located on the field.
