A charity cycle ride through Caithness dedicated to the late Donald McWilliam, nicknamed 'Tender', has raised £5735 for local charities.

The 'Friends of Tender' group took part in a cycle ride in early November that covered 60 miles from Wick Harbour to JOG Harbour, Scrabster Harbour and back to Wick.

The total amount of £5735 came from donations and sponsorship, plus an online lucky square competition for a bottle of 12-year-old whisky donated by Wolfburn Distillery via employee Jemma Nicolson.

Davie Oman, a friend of Tender's, joined the cycle for the first time.

The Wick men have raised almost £40,000 in nine challenges over the years including seven cycle rides and two Great Glencoe Challenges.

The group would like to thank Tesco and B&M for allowing them to fundraise there and the generous customers who supported them.

The fundraising is now under the banner of Friends of Tender in memory of Donald McWilliam (Tender), one of the original team, who passed away unexpectedly two years ago at the age of 59.
