IT is the last call for entries to this year’s Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards – and local businesses are being urged to get involved.

Monday, July 4, is the closing date for the event which celebrates excellence and achievement in the food and drink industry.

The awards are organised by the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Forum, and supported ?by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, with Scottish Provincial Press, publishers of the Groat and Courier, as media partners.

Entries are invited for categories recognising healthier food and drink, innovation, new products, new businesses, and businesses working in collaboration with each other.

The best entries short-listed for each category will be announced at the beginning of September.

The awards will be presented to the winners at a spectacular dinner showcasing delicious, top-quality food and drink from the region in the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness, on Friday, October 21.

Quintin Stevens, chairman of the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards, said: “Being short-listed for one of the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards has the potential to benefit your company.

“Previous winners have commented that the improved profile for their business or product has contributed tremendously to marketing and sales.

“At the same time it has given them confidence to carry out business and product development. And by encouraging and rewarding high standards and innovation, the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Forum helps to keep the industry at the top of the national food and drink agenda.”
