Focus North conference in Wick – seeking to 'drive opportunities to shape our future'

Following the success of the 2023 event, the Focus North conference is set to kick off again, promising a day brimming with "innovation, insight, and networking opportunities".

Scheduled to take place on March 19, 2024 at the Norseman Hotel in Wick from 9.30am to 2.30pm, this in-person event is poised to be a "pivotal moment for the future of Caithness and Sutherland".

Attendees will hear from a dynamic lineup of speakers, each offering invaluable perspectives on the region's potential. From discussions on Renewable Energy to Peatland Restoration and the Sutherland Spaceport project, the conference will delve into various sectors which are driving economic growth and sustainability across the region.

Central to the agenda is an interactive panel session featuring industry leaders. This forum will explore not only the opportunities that lie ahead but also the challenges that must be navigated to realise the region's full potential. Focus North is made up of representatives from Caithness Chamber of Commerce, NRS Dounreay, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Skills Development Scotland, UHI NWH and the Scottish Government.
